Universal Tax Service, LLC is hiring an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our small team for our 70th year. This professional will prepare returns based on experience level. The position is part-time or full-time with the possibility for overtime during the season. Training is provided for office procedures and tax software with ongoing support available as needed. There is potential for ongoing seasonal employment for the right person.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns: federal (1040), Ohio (IT 1040) and Ohio city returns
• May prepare other types of tax returns, depending on experience
• Comfortable communicating with clients in person or by phone
• Keep client information confidential

Qualifications:

• 5 years of tax return preparation experience is preferred
• Must have a valid PTIN or be eligible for a PTIN
• Prior experience with the use of tax preparation software is required
• Ability to work independently with support as needed
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles involved in the preparation of tax returns
• Experience in the preparation of 1065's, 1120's and 1041's is a plus
